못지않다 [Intermediate Grammar]

- 못지않다

→ '못하다' means 'it doesn't reach a certain degree.' '못지않다' is an abbreviation of '못하지 아니하다' indicating affirmation by a double negative. It comes after a noun and means 'it the same as the noun. If it is used after interrogatives (who, where etc.), it turns to the superlative '가장'

Example: 

1. 정말 맛있어요. 솜씨가 요리사 못지않으신데요.
    This is really delicious. Your cooking skills are as good as cooking.

2. 그 아이는 어른 못지않게 생각이 깊어요. 

    The boy is as thoughtful as an adult is.

3. 김 대리는 우리 회사에서 누구 못지않게 열심히 일합니다.
    Mr. Kim works harder than anyone else in our company.

가: 자주 감기에 걸리는 걸 보니까 몸이 약하신가 봐요.

        Seeing that he catches a cold often, you must be weak.

나: 저도 예전에는 누구 못지않게 건강했었는데요.

        He was as healthy as anyone before.
