말고는 [Intermediate Grammar]

 - 말고는

It is a form combining a postposition meaning the exception of a precedent noun with a postposition of comparison, accentuation, which means the accentuation except it. It indicates all the conditions except for the precedent part. '외에는'which is a variant form.

Example: 

1. 한국에서 제주도말고는 모두 가 보았어요.
     I went everywhere in Korea except for Jeju-do.

2. 닭고기말고는 안 먹는 음식이 없어요.
     I eat all food except for chicken.

3. 팔을 조금 다친 것외에는 다른 상처는 없는데요.
    I don't get any wounds except for a small injury on my arm.

4. 서울에서 경복궁말고는 구경한 곳이 없어요.

    There is no other place to visit in Seoul except Gyeongbokgung Palace.

5. 이번 시험에서 듣기말고는 다 잘 봤어요.

     I did well in everything except for this exam.

6. 저는 토요일말고는 언제든지 괜찮은데요.

    Anytime except Saturday is fine.
