- 다가 보니까
→ It is added to a stem of a verb or an adjective indicating while a preceding condition or an action has taken place, a following fact is revealed and a speaker realizes it. Therefore a future tense of the following verb can not be used. '가' from '~다가' and '까' from '보니까' can be omitted.
Example:
1. 이 동네에 오래 살다 보니 정이 들어서 이사 가기가 싫어요.
Since I have lived in this neighborhood for a long time and have become attached to it,
Since I have lived in this neighborhood for a long time and have become attached to it,
I don't want to move out.
2. 동창들이랑 연락을 하지 않다 보니 점점 멀어지는 것 같아요.
Since I don't keep in touch with my schoolfellows, I feel like growing away from them.
3. 조 대리가 워낙 고집이 세다 보니까 주위 사람들과 부딪힐 때가 많아요.
Since Mr. Cho is very stubborn, he often gets in trouble with co-workers.
4. 여기 오다가 보니까 불이 났는지 소방차가 지나가던데요.
Maybe there was a fire. On the way, I saw a fire truck passing by.
5. 집에만 있다가 보니까 점점 게을러지는 것 같아요.
If you still stay only at home, you will be lazy.
