- (으)ㄹ 뻔하다
→It is added to a stem of a verb meaning 'something actually did not happen, but it could have almost taken placed.' Usually, it is used with negative verbs indicating that the speaker feels relieved that it didn't happen.
Example:
1. 한눈파는 사이에 아이가 위험할 뻔했어요.
While I was looking away, my kid almost got hurt.

2. 누구에게나 죽을 뻔한 경험이 한두 번쯤 있을 거예요.
Someone could have almost died once or twice in their life.

4. 너무 바빠서 약속을 잊어버릴 뻔했어요.
I was so busy that I almost forgot the promise.
5. 일하다가 손을 다칠 뻔했어요.
I almost hurt my hand at work.
6. 계단을 내려가다가 넘어질 뻔했어요.
I almost fell down the stairs.
