(이)나 다름없다 [Intermediate grammar]

- (이)나 다름없다

→ It is added to a noun and means 'when the noun is compared with other things, it is not very different.

Example: 

1. 오랜만에 만났는데도 예나 지금이나 다름없어요.
    I haven't met you for a long time, but you are still the same.

2. 이분은 저에게 친부모님이나 다름없는 분이에요. He is like my own parent.

3. 자식이 있어도 없는 것이나 다름없다니까요.

    Having children is no better than having no children.

4. 집을 수리하니까 새 집이나 다름없어요.

    The house has been renovated, so it is like a new house.

5. 그 친구와 저는 형제나 다름없어요.

    That friend and I are like brothers.

6. 이곳에서 평생을 살았기 때문에 고향이나 다름없어요.

    I've lived here all my life so it's like home.
